Maple Fudge Frosting

I wanted to make a butter pecan cake with this maple fudge frosting for my husbands birthday tomorrow, but sadly I was vetoed by the birthday boy. 
Instructions:
  1. Place all of the ingredients, except the icing sugar, into a saucepan and gently them all together until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool slightly and then add the icing sugar, beating to a smooth and glossy finish.
  2. Spread evenly on cake.
